A student-led science radio show broadcasting weekly
For 15 years Radio Swammerdam has been a platform for high-end science communication. Made by an ever changing group of students and recent graduates, Swammerdam broadcasts a weekly hour-long live radio show on Sundays, featuring both post-grads and professors, representing a broad image of Amsterdam academia.
From pre-talks to editing and promotion, every broadcast is the work of a single one of Swammerdam’s hosts, thereby providing a ton of valuable experience to young makers. At the same time, Swammerdam’s formula of hour-long conversations with actual scientists and researchers, allows for a level of in-depth discussion and sophistication that is virtually unheard of on the airwaves.
Listen live every Sunday from 11:00 to 12:00 hrs on Radio Salto, or 99.4 FM. All broadcasts are uploaded to our Soundcloud and Spotify pages. Check out our website and Instagram page, and contact us at radioswammerdam@gmail.com. And every Tuesday afternoon we are to be found at BuzzHouse’s Beehive Studio!
