Today from 5-7pm, UvA’s European Studies and Russian & Slavic Studies programmes, student organisations Machiavelli, SES, Kleio and Radost, and the research schools ASCA, ARTES, ASH and AISSR, together with the inter-faculty ACES research centre, bring together a transdisciplinary panel of experts for a Q&A session to answer questions of students about the war in Ukraine. The event is meant to facilitate knowledge exchange, but also to offer a space to come together and jointly consider these deeply upsetting events.
Speakers are historian Alexander Etkind (European University Institute Florence), political scientist Olga Burlyuk, Eastern Europe experts Michael Kemper and Christian Noack, media anthropologist Johana Kotišová, and cultural historian and Slavist Ellen Rutten. Pola Cebulak from UvA's European Studies will moderate the event. We as 𝐁𝐮𝐳𝐳𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 are also in full support of this initiative and providing technical assistance to the event.
The event is open to all students and employees, and will take place in hybrid form: you can either join us in Oudemanhuispoort D1.08 or sign up for the livestream. If you want to attend, please register here. If you want to attend online, you will receive a link to the Zoom meeting this afternoon.
